Heart care close to home
Welcome to Columbus Cardiology Clinic
Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the United States, claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined. That’s why it’s so important for you to know the signs of heart disease and take action to get treatment. Columbus Cardiology Clinic is a new, local group that focuses on helping the people of Columbus, NE, and the surrounding communities lead heart-healthy lives. In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, our cardiologists also staff the new cardiac catheterization lab at Columbus Community Hospital. If you seek help at the cath lab and don’t have a cardiologist, we can help you determine the right treatment plan and provide follow-up care.
Your heart is an important organ in your body. When it can’t pump oxygen-rich blood to your brain and the rest of your organs, you can’t live a full and healthy life. The main symptoms of heart disease are:
- Chest pain, tightness and discomfort.
- Shortness of breath.
- Pain or heaviness in your arms.
- Pain in the jaw, neck, throat, upper abdomen or back.
If you experience any of these symptoms, head to the emergency room or call 911 right away.
"I have been a musician for almost all of my life, and I can tell when someone is playing from the heart. Ever since my heart attack, everyone I’ve come into contact with at the hospital — the emergency services staff, doctors, nurses, cath lab staff and now the cardiopulmonary team — have all performed their duties with more passion and heart than any musician I’ve ever experienced."
