Before May 2022, medical providers near Columbus, Nebraska, needed to transport patients who had experienced a cardiac event to a large facility with a cardiac catheterization lab. There were no local options. Then, Columbus Community Hospital opened its new cardiac catheterization lab and hired cardiologists to staff it 24/7. As a result, people in Columbus and surrounding communities now have this service available.

In fact, many of them didn’t know they were at risk for heart disease in the first place. Columbus Cardiology Clinic provides an option for them to receive follow-up care.
